Michael Hampton , Ph.D.

Dr. Michael D. Hampton earned his PhD degree in analytical chemistry from Texas Tech University in 1980. The following year he returned to Texas Tech University as a visiting assistant professor and postdoctoral fellow where he did postdoctoral research under the direction of Dr. Jerry L. Mills and taught analytical chemistry for the Department of Chemistry. Currently, Dr. Hampton is a professor in the Department of Chemistry at University of Central Florida where he has been on the faculty since 1981. From 1984 to 1988, Dr. Hampton also worked in the Materials Testing Branch of Kennedy Space Center as a Materials Engineer for NASA. He is also currently Deputy Editor-in-Chief, “International Journal for Alternative Fuel and Ecology”, ISSN 1608-8298, and has a courtesy appointment as Principal Research Scientist at the Florida Solar Energy Center. Dr. Hampton has experience with wet and instrumental analytical methods, inorganic synthesis, materials characterization, XPS, XRD, FIB, and AES. His current research is in the area of hydrogen storage, sensing, purification and separation, and production. He also spends a great deal of time working with scientists in the former Soviet Union on obtaining and maintaining funding for peaceable research.

Jessica Broerman

Ms. Broerman became an Interdisciplinary Studies advisor in March 2007 after spending three years as an Undergraduate Admissions counselor and recruiter. Her passion for higher education administration began while she was a student assistant in the Undergraduate Admissions Office at Wright State University where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication. Jessica also holds a Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership from UCF.

Lee Logan

Mr. Logan is a former Air Force Officer who retired in 1989 after almost 26 years in service of his country. He came to the Interdisciplinary Studies Office as an Academic Advisor in November 2001. Prior to his involvement with Interdisciplinary Studies, he worked at UCF in Undergraduate Admissions, Graduate Studies, and the Registrar's Office. Mr. Logan has a B.S. in Mathematics and his M.A. in Education.

Pete Wallace

Mr. Wallace joined the Interdisciplinary Studies Office in June 2008. Prior to formally joining the office, he worked on curriculum development and program enhancement projects for the Interdisciplinary Studies undergraduate program while serving in the Office of the Vice Provost for Academic Affairs. Mr. Wallace earned a B.S. in Psychology and an M.A. in Counselor Education.
