About Us

Liberal Studies is a university-wide program leading to either the Bachelor of Arts or the Bachelor of Science in Liberal Studies. The program is administered through the Office of Liberal and Interdisciplinary Studies in the Office of Undergraduate Studies and is designed for academic flexibility. It recognizes that there are many combinations of courses which meet the needs of individual students.

Liberal Studies Majors Are Well-Prepared for a Multifaceted World Liberal Studies students have the chance to study across disciplines and access skills and a background that makes them strong candidates in the job market. This multidimensional degree allows students to blend not just the classics with the sciences, but the fundamentals with the highest technologies, and the business world with the arts, humanities, or social sciences. Liberal Studies students are among the most widely educated students at the university, and they can use their degree to great advantage by highlighting their course work and fields. A Liberal Studies background is a rich foundation on which to pursue a career or graduate study.
